Mt. Morris, New York · Opening August 2027
Where everyone hits paydirt.
A thrift store where the price is the price — every item, every day.
Every item in a category costs the same. Prices live on shelf signs, not stickers — so there’s nothing to hunt for and nothing marked up because it looks valuable.
Each category’s price comes from simple math about what it costs to keep the doors open — not from what an item might fetch online.
Rent, utilities and everything else it takes to run the store each month, plus payroll for the people who work there.
Enough to keep the store healthy and here for the long haul — nothing more.
Split it across the number of items expected to sell in each category. That number goes on the sign.
No item is ever priced by what it might fetch. A designer jacket costs the same as the t-shirt beside it.
Gold and Silver Thrift is being opened by a local owner-operator with 20 years of retail management experience — including launching and running online grocery pickup at the Walmart in Geneseo, NY.
The founder knows what it takes to move a lot of product, staff a busy floor and keep customers coming back. Now that experience goes into one store, in one town, built to stay. The owner will be on the floor, not in a corporate office somewhere else.
The store is crowdfunding its opening on Indiegogo. Back it at any level and you’re part of how Gold and Silver Thrift got started.
The Founding Members campaign runs on Indiegogo.

Start setting aside the good stuff.
The first full weekend of August 2027.
The store doesn’t sell furniture. Donated furniture goes — free — to the people in the community who need it most.
Beds, tables and other furniture for neighbors setting up or starting over.
Help for families who’ve lost their homes and need the basics again, fast.
Furniture and supplies routed to local classrooms.
Every week, serviceable items are pulled from donations for direct giving — before they ever hit the sales floor.
Flat pricing. Each category’s price is set by a formula: the store’s monthly costs, plus payroll, plus a modest profit, divided by the number of items expected to sell in that category. Clothing moves in big volume, so the math lands at $1 an item. No item is ever priced by what it might fetch — and it’s the everyday shelf price, not a sale.
No. Donated furniture is given, free, to local families who need it, fire victims and schools.
Spring 2027. Details on hours and what we accept will be posted here.

Gold and Silver Thrift exists because people in this community believed in it before there was a store. Every name below helped bring an empty store back to life — thank you.
